Our Environment
A Commitment to Sustainability and the Environment
At Hypnos, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and to using environmentally friendly, sustainable materials of the highest quality. Click here for more details.
Our beds are made from some of nature’s finest materials which provide the very best sleep systems. Indeed as the only active bed supplier to the British Royal Family, Hypnos continues to support the Royal Family a cross a range of projects, and immediately responded to Prince Charles’s call to promote The Campaign for Wool which supports British sheep farmers, and the natural benefits of wool, by including British wool in every mattress within the Heritage Collection. The Campaign for Wool
Our divan bases are made from timber from managed forests, which are forestry approved and do not contribute to global forest destruction.
Indeed our responsible and environmentally friendly ethos stretches
far beyond sustainable design and the materials that we source, with a ‘Lean and Green’
operational concentration on energy efficient processes, waste minimisation and
recycling.
With a clear focus on sustainable design, all Hypnos beds are 100%
recyclable at the end of their life, ensuring Hypnos beds never need to
go to landfill. Indeed Hypnos has also developed a retailer format of
its hugely successful hotel bed recycling business, The Furniture Recycling Company, which collects old beds from retailers, then shreds old mattresses and divans,
creating recycled raw materials for other industries.
Carbon Offsetting

To further reinforce our long-term commitment to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner, Hypnos has pledged that it will further minimise its carbon footprint through the introduction of a carbon offsetting programme, that will see Hypnos partner with Tree Appeal to offset the CO2 emissions generated by its international business activities.

Hypnos, through 'Tree Twinning', aims to plant 1,000 trees next year in UK and African forests, as well as within schools local to our Buckinghamshire and Nottinghamshire factories.
Chris Ward, Director of Marketing confirms “We are proud to create hand-crafted beds and luxury sleep, not only with a Royal Seal of Approval, but with a genuine claim to be caring, green and conscientious“.
