A legacy of supporting people and the planet
Hypnos is focused on enhancing the wellness of people and the planet through the design of products but also relationships with our local communities, suppliers, and customers.
Based in Buckinghamshire, in the heart of the beautiful Chiltern Hills since 1904, Hypnos realises the importance of celebrating and protecting our precious local habitats and supporting the furniture-making heritage of the area.
Our teams are passionate about engaging with our local community, whether through personal initiatives, sponsored events, volunteering or fundraising efforts. Beyond the donations we make; Hypnos aspires to actively connect with our community, foster learning, and raising awareness about charitable causes within our own network and wider community.

Charity Partnerships
Eden Project
Our approach has always been to make a positive environmental and social impact on the world around us, so we’re incredibly proud to work with the team at the Eden Project since 2019.
This incredible educational charity and social enterprise shares our like-minded approach to local community support, sustainable living education, conservation, as well as developing sustainable products.
The Eden Project is a global movement working with nature to respond to the planetary emergency. How? As a growing movement of global citizens, they aim to get things done in three main ways:
o Respect the natural world and demonstrate that people are part of ‒ not apart from ‒ nature
o Protect wild places and enable them to thrive
o Repair damaged spaces that need to be fixed
Hypnos works closely with the Eden Project to help educate our employees, retailers, and our customers on sustainability and caring for the environment around us. Money raised from endorsed Hypnos products - the Eden Project and Organic Collection - supports transformational projects and learning programmes.
Our partnership means we work collaboratively with the Eden Project to help support local charities including Chiltern Rangers, schools and community projects that tackle poverty, conservation and regeneration.
Chiltern Rangers
Chiltern Rangers are on a mission to enhance the Chilterns’ habitats through conservation, education and community engagement. They work with local communities to provide habitat management in Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns. Chiltern Rangers work in local woodlands, chalk grasslands, commons, ponds and chalk streams as well as managing 13 nature reserves for Buckinghamshire Council.
Hypnos is deeply committed to being a sustainable development leader and since 2018 has chosen to partner with Chiltern Rangers on several projects.
Building a home for nature
By creating a mini-wildflower meadow in front of our Head Office we are helping to restore some of the 97% of meadows lost from Britain. Chiltern Rangers have selected a range of wildflowers to provide colour, nectar and pollen from spring through to late summer. Our aim is to provide a much-needed pollinator corridor for bees, butterflies and other invertebrates. These then help to feed birds like Swifts and House Sparrows, species that are in decline. Nest boxes and bat boxes have also been installed on the building frontage.
Volunteering
Our team have undertaken several volunteering projects alongside Chiltern Rangers over the years including planting trees at local schools. This spring volunteers and their children will take part in projects at Chiltern Rangers’ Community Wildlife Nursery, to help grow local, native wildflowers to be used at various project sites.
In 2024, Hypnos are also sponsoring their electric vehicle to enable Chiltern Rangers to continue their vital work.
