Rooted in Craft: Hypnos and the Eden Project Bring a Living Wall to NBF Bed Show
At Hypnos, we've spent decades sourcing the finest natural fibres - from British wool to sustainably grown plant fibres - because they breathe, insulate and last in ways synthetic materials simply can't match. So when it comes to celebrating that philosophy, there's no partner more fitting than the Eden Project.
This year, as the industry gathers in Telford for the annual NBF Bed Show, we're once again teaming up with Eden's designers and horticultural team to bring something truly special to our stand: a living wall garden installation, bursting with lush, semi-tropical planting.
A Partnership Worth Celebrating![NBF2026EDENPLANTS-IMAGEPLACEHOLDER[02].png](https://www.hypnosbeds.com/5917/8998/7184/NBF2026EDENPLANTS-IMAGEPLACEHOLDER02.png)
Our relationship with the Eden Project has become something of a tradition - a yearly reminder of why natural materials matter, told through living, growing things rather than words alone. Where our mattresses rely on durable, high-performing plant fibres to deliver comfort night after night, Eden's mission is to champion the natural world every single day. Put the two together, and you get a stand that retailers remember.
This year's installation carries extra significance. It follows a string of appearances throughout 2026, including Chelsea Flower Show, and arrives as the Eden Project marks its 25th anniversary - alongside the exciting development of its new site in Morecambe. It felt right to mark such a milestone with something equally ambitious: a full living wall, rather than a simple display.
What Will BE DISPLAYED AT Telford
Eden's team has curated a collection of rare and richly textured plants for the wall, each one a small masterclass in the diversity of the plant kingdom. Look out for the deep, jewel-toned foliage of Begonia sp. 017 and Begonia sp. 018 ('Harmony's Starry Night'), two collector's plants prized for their shimmering, patterned leaves. Alongside them sits the hypnotic spiral of Begonia 'Escargot', the elegant coral blooms of Begonia coccinea, and the dramatic burgundy tones of Begonia rex 'Inca Night' - all set among the trailing greenery of Epipremnum aureum and the fountain-like foliage of Chlorophytum comosum.
Every plant on the wall has been grown sustainably in Eden's own on-site nursery - heated geothermally, potted in peat-free compost, and watered with harvested rainwater. It's a fitting mirror of our own approach at Hypnos: nothing goes to waste, and everything is chosen with care.

Life After the Show
For us, the story doesn't end when the show closes. We've never believed in single-use displays, whether that's a mattress or a wall of begonias. Every year, once the NBF Bed Show wraps up, the plants go on to a second life: some are donated to our partners at Chiltern Rangers, others are planted outside our building, and the more tender, tropical varieties are brought inside to thrive in and around our workspace.
This year, the living wall itself will make the journey back to Hypnos, where it will be carefully reinstalled in 'Hypnosh' - our main staff area - for our team to enjoy every day. It felt only right that a display built to celebrate durability and longevity should go on living well beyond the show floor, in the same way a Hypnos mattress is built to be enjoyed for years, not seasons.

Why It Matters
At its heart, this partnership is about more than decoration. It's a physical reminder, on the show floor and in our office, of the values Hypnos and the Eden Project share: a respect for natural materials, a commitment to sustainability, and a belief that the best things are built - or grown - to last.
If you're heading to the NBF Bed Show in Telford this year, come and see the living wall for yourself. It's a small green corner of a big trade show - and a fitting symbol of everything we stand for.
