The Story & Craft Behind Emma J Shipley’s Mythica Designs
Her inspiration and passion for design begins with 18th Century Botanical illustrations and a love for the Arts & Crafts movement in Britain. This blends with her own travels and a fervent imagination with fictional influences such as myths, legends, and fairytales, to create a unique and fantastical world of design. You’ll see her fascination with the natural world and animals from her travels, particularly those from the wild places on Earth, such as the jungles of Costa Rica and the savannahs of Africa.
These designs are all hand-drawn in pencil, before being intricately digitally coloured, giving a distinctive look combining traditional and cutting-edge techniques.
