An exciting new partnership
Hypnos has an ongoing commitment to source the best and most sustainable materials for their beds.
With an ethical and responsible approach to farming practises, Wools of New ZealandTM focuses on delivering the finest quality wool in the world, with 100% traceability, sustainable land management and animal welfare at the forefront. Priding themselves on growing wool efficiently and reducing carbon emissions, these farms’ fleece yields and operating efficiencies generate a 28% lower carbon footprint than that of UK wool. Wools of New ZealandTM only work with farming families who are committed to sustainable farming practises and caring for the land so that it may be passed to future generations.
Wools of New ZealandTM farms are audited for:
- Land management
- Animal welfare
This relationship enables us to know exactly where our wool is coming from, so much so, we can get to know the families and the farms in the pure and clean environment of New Zealand – the best climate for the finest quality wool.
One of our primary family farms that we work with is the windswept Okepuha Station off the Hawkes Bay coastline on the Mahia Peninsula, New Zealand. Much like Hypnos, the business is family run, with strong family values that ensure that the farms success and security for future generations to come. Hannah and Richard Coop are the fourth generation to farm at the 940 hectare farm. The family's long association with the peninsula began back in 1905 when land was bought by Richard's great grandfather. It is a stunning and dramatic location with a balance of flat and undulating easy hills that gives way to steep, clean hill country – rising from 130 metres above sea level up to 450metres.
Together with their young family, Hannah and Richard are award winners in their own right for their innovative farming and environmental strategies including soil conservation.
