Hypnos signs armed forces covenant

Hypnos, has formally signed the Armed Forces Covenant at an event attended by senior figures at the company’s Princes Risborough showroom. As part of Hypnos’ commitment, the company has pledged to take a flexible approach to recruitment that recognises the unique experiences and skills of those involved in the Armed Forces community.

The Armed Forces Covenant represents a promise that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly. Signed by businesses, charities and public sector organisations, pledges can range from discounts on products to training and workplace opportunities for those who leave the Armed Services.

Hypnos has formally promised to provide flexible employment opportunities that allow Reservists to train or to deploy. Furthermore, the company aims to attract veterans to Hypnos who leave the services, as well as cadets who may not ultimately take up an Armed Forces career.

By signing this agreement, Hypnos has also pledged to provide training and development for Armed Forces personnel and offer support for those looking for a new career at the company. This is part of Hypnos’ wider approach to supporting both the Princes Risborough and Castle Donington communities in which it operates.

The signing at the Hypnos Princes Risborough showroom was attended by Air Commodore, Alan Opie, Assistant Chief of Staff Delivery at the Royal Air Force and Chris Ward, Group Marketing Director at Hypnos.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chris Ward said: “We are extremely proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and to recognise the unique experience of the Armed Forces community. As a family-run business with family values at its core, we feel that we have a moral obligation to support members of the Armed forces, together with their families. We also respect the significant transferable skills that a career in the Armed Forces provides, particularly in the area of leadership and teamwork. We want to take a flexible approach to recruitment that provides veterans, Reservists and cadets with ongoing opportunities that utilise these skills.”

Regional Employer Engagement Director at the Ministry of Defence, Kate Lole, added: “On behalf of serving personnel both Regular and Reserves, veterans and their families we are delighted that Hypnos has agreed to sign the Armed Forces Covenant. By proudly displaying the Armed Forces Covenant when recruiting and marketing it signifies to those from the Armed Forces Community that Hypnos is a supportive business and employer.”
