Our farmers and growers work within fully audited and traceable assurance schemes, allowing our raw materials to be traced back to their origin with organisations like The Woolkeepers®, Responsible Wool Standard and the Better Cotton Initiative certifying our raw materials, and ensuring Hypnos pays a fair price.

Comfort with integrity™

Wool is an ideal material for mattresses to encourage better sleep; it’s comfortable and naturally regulates body temperature and absorbs VOC’s from the atmosphere, helping to create a healthy sleep environment.  It’s also a fibre that’s renewable, naturally grown and fully biodegradable.   

We wanted to find a fully traceable and ethical way to buy our wool, making sure it was British, responsibly farmed and farmers were fairly paid and supported.

Our unique relationship with The Woolkeepers was a true industry first, established in 2019, with the key aim to source 100% British wool that’s 100% traceable to the farms its grown on. Our approach extends further with Hypnos committed to paying a fair price to farmers, promptly and upfront so they can invest with confidence in a more sustainable and reliable future. 

We first pioneered using wool traceable to Red Tractor assured farms with standards that covered the full farm supply chain including animal welfare, traceability and environmental protection. Today, Hypnos uses British wool that’s been certified by the globally recognised Responsible Wool Standard – ensuring that at every stage of the farming, shearing, grading, washing and combing -  the journey of Hypnos’ wool has been robustly audited and handled by true experts, with care and precision.  We are extremely proud to work with a growing number of farms across Britain adopting this international standard.

Once these beautiful wool layers have been delivered to our workshops in the heart of Buckinghamshire, they become an integral part of a carefully handcrafted Hypnos mattress.
